narmada puran
In this Brahmastrishtam, the Narmadaka incarnation on earth has happened three times. First bar in the first Satyuga of Padmakalpa, second time in the first Satyuga of the Daksasavarni Manvantar and third time in the first Satyuga of the present Vaivasvata Manvantara. The stories of the three times Narmada descent are as follows:
First story - Before this creation, Brahma ji went to Rishta for some reason on the Lord of the seas and cursed the sea to bear human birth, consequently in Padmakalpa, the Lord of the sea was born on earth as Purukutsa.
Once the Purukuts asked the sages and deities, which one is the best pilgrimage in the world and the divine world?
The gods said that Reva is the best pilgrimage place. They are loved by His Holiness and Shiva. He is not compared to anyone else.
The king said - Then those pilgrimage Reva should try to incarnate on the ground floor. Poets and deities expressed their inability. He said - She always lives in Shiva-sannyadhi. Even Shankar ji considers him his daughter, he cannot abandon her.
But King Purukutsa was not going to disappoint. His resolve was unwavering. After going to the peak of Vindhya, he started penance. Pleased with the harsh penance of Purukutsa, Lord Shiva appeared and asked the king to ask for a boon. Purukutsa said - You should incarnate on the ground Tarmabhuta Narmada. I do not want anything more from you except for those revolutions on Earth.
Lord Shiva first told this task to the king as impossible, but when Shankarji saw that he did not want any other groom, Lord Bholenath was very happy with his blessings and desire for public service. He ordered Narmanda to land on Earth.
Narmadaji said - If someone is holding me on earth and you too will be near me, then I can land on the ground. Shivji accepted that he would live forever near Narmada. Even today, every stone of Narmada symbolizes the idol of Shiva and the holy bank of Narmanda is called Shivkshetra. When Lord Shiva commanded the mountains to wear Narmada, then Vyhanka Parvat, son of Vindhyachal, accepted wearing Narmada. Maa Narmada appeared from inside the bamboo tree from the top of Meekal mountain of Tereank mountain. That is why he has a name 'Mekalasuta'done . The gods came and prayed that if you touch us, we will also become pure. Narmadane replied - I am still a virgin, so I will not touch any man, but if someone obstinately touches me, he will be consumed. Therefore, you must first make a suitable man for me. The Gods said that King Purukuts is worthy of you, he is the incarnation of the sea and the continent of the rivers is the sea. They are part of the same born from the person of Sakshat Narayan, so you can remember them. Narmadane Raja Purukuts was taken as husband, then by the king's command, Narmadane sanctified the gods with his water.
Second story - In Daksasavarni Manvantar, Maharaja Hiranyatejane did penance for 18 thousand years for the descent of Narmada. Satisfied with penance, Lord Shiva appeared, then Hiranyatejane prayed to Lord Shankar for Narmada-descent. Narmadji took a very huge form while incarnating in this temple. It seemed that she would also destroy Duloka and Prithvi. In such a situation, the divine link of Lord Shankar appeared on the summit of Parabank mountain. There was a sound that sounded like Reva! You should stay in your limits. Hearing that sound, Narmada ji became silent and appeared on the earth bathing the incised penis in very small form. When she incarnated in this era, there was no talk of her marriage; Because they were married in the first cycle.
Third story - In this Vaivasvata Manvantara, King Pururavane did penance to bring Narmada to the ground floor. It is
pertinent to note that Pururava revealed the first four arani mantras to Agaridev and considered him his son. Vedic yagyas started in this manvantara from the Pururavas. Before that people used to meditate and meditate.
Pururava pleased Lord Shankar by doing austerities and asked for a boon for the Narmada to descend on the earth. In this kalpa, the name of Vindhyak Parvat Parvak was named Amarkantak; Because the demons who used to hurt the gods started living in the forests of this mountain. When Tripura fell on this mountain after burning the wings of Lord Shankar, the demons were consumed by burning his flame.
This story of Narmada's incarnation is similar to the second cycle. This time too, while descending on the ground floor, Narmadane had taken the form of a catastrophe, but Lord Bholenath had ordered him to live in his limits, which caused him to become very compressed and appeared on earth.
